Junebug has been baking away since 2010 in one way or another, but in August of 2013 the random little makeup and lash jobs evolved into a full time mobile business. Junebug is all about offering top-quality beauty services, great convenience and flexibility, optimum customer satisfaction and relations.
We specialise in lash extensions, eye enhancements (tinting, perming, brow rehabilitation and sculpting), body and facial waxing and makeup artistry services.
10 years in the beauty industry has provided me with a fantastic insight into how the industry works, how to optimise customer service and reinforce the value of clients, the importance of keeping current and most of all, offering a quality treatment and service to your clients.
Initially my career was driven by a more holistic ambition; seeing the relief and feeling of wellbeing that an in-home pedicure gave my grandmother ignited a desire to help people. I moved to Auckland from the Waikato to start my Premier Diploma in Spa and Beauty Therapies with Electrolysis at Elite International in Mairangi Bay; the initial year of skincare, beauty, electrolysis, body therapies and an internship at Skinsense Devonport was followed by a half year of holistic spa therapies (la stone massage, Indian head massage, reiki, shiatsu, reflexology, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, Vichy etc). I obtained my Elite Diploma and further national and international qualifications.
My background and passion for spa led me into my first job as a junior spa therapist at Jamu DaySpa. My next role was a few years later, helping set up, launch and run a new MediSpa in Botany (Image Oasis). Here I also obtained a Masterclass qualification with Jane Aredale makeup. I then spent a year travelling and working overseas. Upon my return I worked as a beauty therapist for Lashes in Albany, and my last role before the launch of Junebug was at Cerise Lash and Makeup in Grey Lynn. It was here I was trained in lash extensions by Elisia Webb. Since then I have futhered my training with volume specialist Deb Challis of FabLash, Japanese lash specialist Ui Takemasa of Up Lashes and international industry leader, Courtney Buhler or SugarLash Pro.
I believe having had such a variety of roles has helped me immensely to learn to adapt and still maintain a high level of professionalism and quality. I have met and continue to meet so many amazing, inspiring and empowering people, which continues to be one of my favourite aspects of my job.
I can't wait to meet you and make you feel beautiful.
In July of 2014, Junebug upsized to a wonderful premises on Ponsonby Road, Auckland Metro, to establish our first clinic.
After moving on from here in 2016, a new studio is now open in Papamoa, Bay of Plenty.
